Preventing Depression with Positive Self Portrait
Individuals who have a negative self-portrait has a bad perception of themselves. Conversely, by having a positive self-portrait, a person has a strong foundation for the award of himself/herself. He/she is more able to respect themselves.
Self-portrait has a strong influence for each individul in their personal life, relationships in pairs, even with the social relations in a broader scope. Person with negative self-portraits tend to have problems in his/her social relations and easily get depressed.
Although self-portraits influenced family, friends, environment, and even the media, each person can improve self-portrait. There are always ways to get positive self-portraits for each individual to appreciate him/herself.
1. Combat the negative thoughts
Negative thoughts tend to lead someone to talk bad about her/himself. So, challenge yourself against the negative thoughts. For example, when you get a bad rating from the office, do not necessarily blame and weaken yourself with negative thoughts. Conversely, combat the negative thoughts with more respect for yourself because after all the results, you have been working hard to provide the best.
2. Creating a positive self journals
Write down three different things you like about yourself every day. Focus on writing characters and behaviors that demonstrate a positive self-portrait, something you appreciate about yourself. You do not need to explain these characters, simply write a clear and unequivocal about the positive value of yourselves.
Living Healthier with Positive Thinking
People who think positively are usually more out of life. They also live healthier. Why?
Because positive thinking or optimism is a source of healing, it helps reduce pain and help us manage stress.
As is known, our bodies are actually responding to the thoughts, emotions, and deeds that we do. Therefore, expectations that arise can also affect the results of treatment performed. Placebo effect proves this theory. Drug or placebo treatment that contains no medical benefits except beliefs often affect patients heal.
